I recently finished the book "Cancer and The Lord's Prayer" written by Greg Anderson, and given me by friends. It explains the hope and healing possible by reciting the greatest prayer in history. It takes the Lord's Prayer sentence-by-sentence and explains the deeper meaning in its words. By knowing this I am now able to recite it with a definite sense of purpose instead of just repeating the words I've memorized.
And the amount of people telling me, in emails or in person, that they'll be praying for me has been amazing. I am so thankful for those prayers and hope the wires are overflowing up in heaven. One person asked me for something specific that she could pray for. I would have to say "for the tumor in my lower bowel to shrink or go away completely and for a successful surgery with complete recovery." And to thank God, in advance, for my recovery.
Prayer... another opportunity for regaining health and well-being.
A Note from Debbie.....
It's been one amazing year and now I am happy to say I am cured. Please see below for my journey through cancer....
Hello my friends, on August 4, 2008 I was diagnosed with Cancer.
As you can imagine the initial shock was great, for me, Doug and our girls. We've now got a great team of colorectal doctors, learned a lot about what is ahead, and have gotten our minds wrapped around it. So now we are in the "let's get this thing out of here" mode and feel very confident that, with prayers and support of my friends and family, by next Spring I will celebrate being cancer-free.
Please join me in this journey of Recovery, and visit this blog from time to time for updates, to post your comments, and read others'. If you're new to Blogging (as am I!) new postings are at the top, click the Archives at the left and scroll down to start at the beginning, then press "Comments" to read responses, and please add your own! And if you will, leave your name and how we're associated, as opposed to Anonymous (thanks!). Email Doug for instructions if you have trouble, ddavis@archifects.com.
With much love,
Debbie

Your recent message has caused me to recite the Lord's Prayer for the first time in years. Strangely, I had to sing it to remember the words. After sending up that prayer, I Googled it to learn the meaning of each line. That made the prayer even more meaningful. Thank you for the nudge to renew my
understanding of that familiar
prayer.
I pray you only the slightest discomfort and ALL the healing to a full recovery.
I love you so much,
Mom
from Julie
to my dear little sister!
I hope today finds you still FG :• ) !!
I’m sure that Tori and Doug, Logan and the cats are taking great care of you, and making sure you get your rest! If I know them, they are entertaining you as well!
Remember to let them pick up any slack for you! And please, don’t you worry that you are going to miss some things! You might, but right now, if for just this once, you are supposed to be totally into yourself. Let your mind relax whenever you can, and let Doug take the reigns. Let Tori have her new experiences, and tell you her story when she gets home.
It’s just a little different, for just a little while. And for sure this is going to change that natural coarse of things, but I think you musn’t worry. I hope you are clearing your mind as well as your schedule and your work load. Let us hold you up!
Tell us if you need something, and dont’ be shy... I’m waiting to be told what to do next!
I hope you don’t mind, and mom said it would be ok, that I have let your classmates and some of their parents know, to send you a card and wish you well, tell you what's happening in their world, and blog into your journey.
I miss you lots, and really wish we could be closer (within hugging distance) to you and Doug and the girls...
Think only good thoughts!
Laurey, Kathy, and I all want to be like you when we grow up!
love
julie
Dear Debbie, I am so glad Julie wrote my Mom and informed her of what's going on with you. I'm so glad that you have this site, and that I found it and figured out how to sign up and use it! It's new to me! I was very touched by your posts and peoples comments. I think of you often, and will keep you in my prayers. Stay strong! Love, Susan
Julie, I'll give her a big hug for you!
